QUALITY SPECIALIST

SUMMARY
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. Under the direction of the QA Manager assists in developing, implementing, and coordinating the quality management system for process improvements and new business start-up. Plans, coordinates, and directs QA / QC personnel to ensure conformance to operating standards and parts meet internal and customer specifications and requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Develops and maintains control of documents required by IATF 16949.
- Directs activities to maintain IATF 16949-2016 quality certification. Schedules and manages internal and external audits.
- Conducts internal and external audits.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present. standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Serves as a point of contact for customers and outside vendors, and participates in customer related issues, investigates root cause of quality trouble and advises changes in system for countermeasures and prevention of defects.
- Writes countermeasure reports for customer complaints, QFA, and other quality initiatives.
- Conducts APQP, PPAP, Process Change and other systems to ensure quality for new and current business.
- Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products to rectify problems.
- Assists with continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods, etc.
- Assists Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality procedures.
- Able to judge and train the handling of suspect and discrepant parts.
- Does problem solving with groups and individuals involved with project implementation, periodic checks, and reporting of project status.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Acrobat Reader and office equipment i.e., scanner, fax machine, digital camera, and copier.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science Degree or Equivalent Experience.
