Machine Builder / Electrical/Control Panel Builder / Equipment Assembly

Position Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hour ($52,000-$62,400/yr)
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Our client, located in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a skilled professional with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling technical equipment and machinery for the company’s Environmental Test Chamber product line. This includes building electrical panels to specification, installing electrical components, and performing detailed point-to-point wiring based on electrical schematics and diagrams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to ensure all projects meet performance and safety standards.
Essential Duties:
- Review and analyze orders/prints for accuracy/applicability.
- Fit and assemble components together according to prints, manuals and knowledge of machine construction using hand tools and power tools.
- Install wiring and electrical components to specification.
- Lay out hole locations and drill and tap holes on parts for assembly.
- Install piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air and water.
- Verify alignment, tolerance and clearance of moving parts.
- Test machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities and conformance to customer and test specifications.
- Maintain inventory levels of component parts.
Other Duties:
- Communicate technical assistance to customers as necessary.
- Set-up and operate machinery to shape and/or fabricate parts to specification. (i.e. lathes, milling machines, drill presses, vertical and horizontal cut-off saws, and similar equipment).
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Keep all work areas clean and organized.
- Document time and material for parts and equipment.
- Follow all safety policies.
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong mechanical background in machine building.
- Ability to trouble-shoot: determine what is causing an operating error and decide what to do about it.
- Ability to read, visualize and follow drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation.
- Ability to accurately read measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, tape measures, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with ASTM specs a plus.
- Strong work ethic – ability to report on time for all scheduled workdays/shifts.
Required Education:
- Some college or advanced degree preferred. (Associates Degree in a technical field would be ideal.)
- 1-3 years manufacturing experience.
