Overview:
This role involves filling products utilizing various packaging machines, and ensuring the area is well-organized with necessary materials like pails, cans, cartridges, or films. You'll be responsible for setting up the equipment, gathering required labels and casing materials, and following the Production Order card for accurate packaging, which includes labeling cans and cases. Accurate reporting of production counts and downtime is also essential.
Job Duties:
Assembling and placing all materials as indicated on the fill card, following filling procedures to package materials into various container sizes, and meeting the established production schedules.
Maintaining cleanliness of the work area by following written standard operating procedures, assisting in waste segregation and recycling, and effectively communicating with the Foreman and Production Manager are also part of this role.
Using appropriate safety equipment and adhering to safety regulations is a must.
You will also track progress throughout the shift by completing overall equipment effectiveness documents.
Skills and Abilities:
Having a forklift certification or the willingness to obtain one is preferred. You'll need to be able to lift 50 pounds, have basic computer skills, and be familiar with Windows. LEAN and Visual Factory Management (VFM) skills are a plus, or you should be willing to train. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively as part of a team, self-motivation, and quick learning are essential attributes. Additionally, you should be able to read, write, and comprehend batch making processes.
