LEAD ELECTRICAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN
Position Type: Direct Hire or Temp to Hire
Position Hours: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:00pm, OT on Fridays
Position Location: Tiffin, Ohio
Position Salary: $30.00 - $40.00/hour (Depending on experience)
The position of Lead Electrical service technician requires leading the electrical service of the project assigned to the team. The position involves working closely with the project team leader and other team members. This position requires individual performance and the ability to guide team members. The lead electrical service tech is responsible for all controls, hardware, wiring, and software aspects of the project throughout that process. Service Technicians report directly to the service manager, however much of the direction on projects will come from the Project Team Leader and assembly team leader. It is both team leaders’ responsibility to utilize the team in the most efficient and effective way to complete the requirements to the specifications in the required timeframe. Service Technicians will be asked to assist with the development and training of new team members and work study students.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical service for each team’s projects.
- Attend project meetings as requested by the service manager and project team leader.
- Work closely with the Lead Mechanical Service Tech through the service request, de-bug, and commissioning of the project. Always supporting each other and all company team members.
- Provide manufacturing support, assembly support, de-bug, and final qualification of the equipment.
- Work with engineering to answer questions and solve design issues.
- Assist with the I/O check, program load, and machine de-bug ensuring that each requirement of the scope is met, and the project milestone dates are maintained.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to determine the proper solutions and resolve.
- Ensure the project requirements are met prior to, and during the internal and customer run-offs.
- Provide field support for new installations including startup and final tuning. Travel will be required.
- Document processes to produce timely detailed service reports.
- This position will support the assembly team when not traveling and will work the 4 days, 10-hour schedule with OT on Fridays. When traveling the schedule remains first shift but will vary based on the install schedule and customer's hours of operations.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating work with other team members.
- Ability to work on multiple projects as well as be a member of a cross functional team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and clients.
Requirements
- Assembly Service Technician experience is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service automated equipment.
- Ability to travel, work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedule.
- Technical degree and/or certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication, customer relations, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
