Material Handler - 2ND SHIFT
Northwood, Ohio
$20/HR
SUNDAY 430 PM TO 1 AM
MONDAY THRU THURSDAY  330 PM TO MIDNIGHT

Summary of Position:
Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck.     May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements.     May perform other general warehouse functions in support of operational requirements.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  1. Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan
  2. Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly
  3. Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
  4. Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw
  5. Cycle Counts
  6. Identify, hold and segregate defective material
  7. Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
  8. Perform general clean up
  9. Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
  10. Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
  11. Assist in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead
  12. Train others when required

 
Minimum Requirements:
  1. High school diploma/GED
  2. History of consistent dependable attendance
  3. 5 years of warehousing experience – especially in metals industry
  4. Shipping experience
  5. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  6. Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills
  7. Previous forklift experience
  8. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
Preferred Requirements:
  1. Use of hand held measuring tools
  2. Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
  3. LEAN and/or Quality Control experience
