Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler/Warehouse Associate to support warehouse and production operations. This position is responsible for safely moving raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
The ideal candidate has strong forklift, shipping, inventory, and warehouse experience, preferably within the metals industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize RF scanners to ensure accurate order and material traceability.
- Stand and work on feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate overhead cranes to sort, stage, and move material safely.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail while following work instructions and procedures.
- Read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations to support daily operations.
- Perform housekeeping and general cleanup tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
- Secure loads for safe transport in trailers.
- Load and unload trucks while verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Support operational needs and complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads.
Qualifications
2 years of warehouse experience, preferably within the metals industry.
Previous forklift experience.
Previous shipping experience.
Strong and dependable attendance history.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit for extended periods and regularly bend, twist, squat, reach, and grasp.
Preferred:
Experience using handheld measuring tools.
Basic computer skills, including database and Microsoft Office programs.
