Shipping Clerk
2nd shift:
Job Summary: To properly prepare and transport material in a way that insures accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers. (Training on 1st shift 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
Job Duties:
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
- Complete necessary paperwork by entering into computer to ship materials
- Verify all skids are packaged properly. This includes that day’s shipments, make and holds and jobs for future, etc.
- Communicate with carriers picking up orders
- Prepare the material to ship out to customers. Protect the material on all sides using shrink-wrap. Strap material to the skid using banding and tensioner.
- Prepare material for export using special export skids and cutting necessary wood.
- Transport and organize material to prepare for shipping
- Load outbound trucks matching carriers with correct assigned orders.
- Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experience
- Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must have tow motor experience and be able to successfully complete tow motor certification training
- Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
- Must possess good problem solving skills
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers, other departments, and vendors.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work as team member or independently
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to lift up to 50#’s
- Must be able to read a micrometer
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved
