Job Title: Truck and Trailer Diesel Mechanic
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Shift: 1st Shift (Must be flexible for some evening and weekend work)
Start Date: Pending interview and successful completion of pre-employment screening
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Truck and Trailer Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a hands-on role maintaining and repairing waste-moving equipment. This position involves both in-shop work and on-the-road service calls, with the majority of time spent in the shop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on:
Aluminum live floor trailers
Respond to service calls as needed (approx. 20% of the time)
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Fabricate parts and perform welding repairs (a plus, not required)
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Accurately document work performed and parts used
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic (required)
Knowledge of diesel engines, trailer systems, and hydraulic components
Welding and part fabrication experience is a plus
Certifications in tires, welding, or brakes are a plus
Must have steel-toe boots (all other PPE provided)
Must bring own tools (preferred)
Must speak and understand English for safety purposes
Additional Requirements:
Background Check: Required prior to start
Drug Test: 10-panel test required
Dress Code: Steel-toe boots, jeans, and a T-shirt
